Are we on the verge of having aliens as neighbors?
All my life I have been enchanted with space exploration. Man in general has also been in the search for life aside earthlings(living things on earth). We have accomplished remarkable feats like landing on the moon and sending equipments to study a planet like mars.
So far, we have not had any 'eureka' moments but our search continues. It's in the nature of man to inquire and with unwavering resolve after each apparent defeat we are still marching on. One recent incident that called my attention was the breaking of voyager 1 out of our solar system. For the first time in history, man would start exploring the universe beyond our solar system voyager1 becomes the machine to travel the farthest distance''.'
There is a saying that "nothing is new under the sun" well everything is new for voyager1 since it has even departed from our solar system. Scientists are currently thrilled by this accomplishment. 36 years ago the voyager 1 and 2 spacecrafrafts specifically in semptember 1977 ventured into our solar system. It is said that voyager1 used Saturn's gravitational pull to rocket itself further away from the sun. It is estimated to be 11 billion miles away from the sun, its twin trailing behind 9 billion miles away from the sun. about a year ago, the scientists in charge of the voyager mission suspected that voyager1 had broken out of out solar system but they did not want to declare it officially until they had more proofs.
Another thing that astonishes me about the voyager crafts is that they have been designed to help give meaningful information about the whearabouts, culture and people of planet earth just in case they encounter life. There are several descriptions and even music on the voyager crafts. sadly it is said that the nuclear power driving the voyager crafts will get exhausted betwenn 2020 and 2025.
Though quite a number of scientists are not very optimistic about the discovery of life just yet. We never can tell, we just might find another specie of beings dwelling on a planet that supports life. Just maybe we earthlings are not alone.
