Don’t work hard... WORK SMART by Kolade Pelumi

$ SECRETS TO SUCCESS $

 One of my favorite secondary school teacher used to tell us “don’t work hard, work smart” he would then continue saying, if the road to success was by pure hard work then the most successful dudes on earth would be brick layers and laborers. That statement used to crack up my ribs. Anyways, the more I pondered about his hilarious statement the more I found it to be true. I would like to build something up here. When boys who have the opportunity to study in school decide not to, they probably end up becoming school dropouts who graduate to amount to labourers and bus conductors etc .They would then be doing times 10 the hard work they ran away from in school. It is quite obvious that if they were smart enough to do the little work they were asked to do in school they would not have to toil in their old age for ends meet when their counterparts that took their school work seriously are probably chilling in their fully air-conditioned offices simply instructing and directing people around and making tons of money. The simple difference is that one party decided to work smart by listening to counsel and staying in school so that they would not have to Toil hard. I do not look down on brick layers and labourers because they are vital entities for the development of our society but the ones that had the opportunity to do better with their lives are the ones I pity.  I tell you, if some of them could go back in time, they would work hard like the world was coming to an end.

 Let’s look at it from this angle now. Have you ever wondered why the most brilliant people in school don’t end up becoming the most successful in life? It’s because the values that our society teaches is Study hard, read hard, so that you can get a good job. This is true anyway but then you would probably be working for someone who does not do so much hard work but does so much smart work. Those wise ones who probably are not so good academically could develop entrepreneurship abilities and end up employing the geniuses and then placing them on salary. I would have loved to continue on this, but I would not want to write a very lengthy piece that could bore you, let me leave you with this quote “WORK SMART SO YOU WOULD EMPLOY THOSE WHO WORK HARD”.
