EVERYBODY DOES A PATIENCE!!!!
Yesterday afternoon I was in a group chat with members of my department and we were joking around with each other. We were spotting typos and grammatical errors and trying to make fun of one another.
I guess it is no secret that our first-lady is the queen of these things, so when one of my departmental mates (Spencer) started referring to these blunders as patience, I found it very hilarious…..by the way this is typical of Spencer.
As it may seem otherwise, I did not write this post to mock our First lady. It is no secret that we all make blunders hence my Title, but if we decide to educate ourselves now and really decide to improve we can reduce the deficit to the barest minimum. So in that light I have put up 10 errors we easily make and how we can correct them.
Error: My Engineering project is centered around spaceships
Right: My engineering project is centered on Spaceships
Comment: Even I just learnt this.. Surprised? Well everybody does a Patience
Error: Students that study on their phones are good students
Right: Students Who Study on their phones are good student
Comment: we are referring to humans here, we should use ‘’who’’ in place of ‘’that’’
Error: I and my friend went to see Amazing Spiderman 2 together
Right: My friend and I went to see Amazing Spiderman 2 together
Comment: I remember being corrected about this error severally, since JS1.. I only took heed in SS2
Error: I want to use the ATM machine
Right: I want to use the ATM
Comment: ATM stands for Automated teller machine, so the inclusion of another machine is merely tautology
Error: let me go and get my PIN number
Right: let me go and get my PIN
Comment: PIN stands for personal Identification number already, there is no need to repeat the number.
